                    Welcome!
This website for women and men living with diabetes is brought to you by Diabetes Counselling Online  and Health Counselling,

After talking to literally hundreds of people with diabetes over the years, it has become clear to us that myths and worries, questions and uncertainty abound in relation to diabetes and pregnancy. Women carry many worries and questions. Men can be left out of the discussions, but men living with diabetes have their own worries about how their diabetes may affect their ability to have children, whether they will pass it on to their children and how they will manage fatherhood. Issues such as planning and pre conception care; managing pregnancy, birth and breastfeeding; parenting when you have diabetes to look after; and the grief of being unable to conceive a baby and/or the loss of a baby, need to be discussed. And so this website has been born!

This site offers up to date information, links and resources you may find useful in your pregnancy and parenting journey. It also shares personal insights and stories, with information about the emotional and psychological side of pregnancy and parenting.  This is not a medical site and you will not be able to receive advice about individual adjustment to your diabetes management or management o your pregnancy.
